Basic Electrified Exit Device & Entry Application
Upgrade your interior security with our Basic Electrified Exit Device Applications. Designed for seamless integration into modern office environments, these configurations allow you to replace traditional keys with secure card readers or keypads. By utilizing electrified trim or latch retraction, you can manage access to sensitive areas like IT rooms or executive suites while maintaining a code-compliant, one-motion exit path for all occupants.

System Operation:
This application manages authorized entry through electronic credentials while providing an unhindered mechanical exit.
- Door normally closed and locked by electric latch retraction exit device.
- Door released on exterior side by remote switch (card reader, keypad)
- Door released on interior side by exit device.
- The electric latch retraction provides remote latchbolt retracting ability.
Operations Summary:
- Secured State: The door is physically locked from the exterior (or "unprotected") side. The latch is extended, and the exterior lever is rigid.
- Authorized Entry: A user presents a valid badge to the card reader or enters a code into the keypad.
- Hardware Release: The system sends power to the electrified exit device or exit trim. This "unlocks" the lever, allowing the user to turn it and retract the latch manually.
- Relatching: Once the door closes and the access control timer expires, the exterior lever returns to its locked state.
- Free Egress: Occupants exiting the room simply press the push bar. The latch retracts mechanically, providing an immediate exit regardless of the building's electrical status.
- Fail-Secure Security: In the event of a power outage, the exterior side remains locked (fail-secure), while the interior remains free for exit.
Power Supplies & Power Transfer
Ensure your electrified hardware never misses a beat with our Securitron BPS and PSP power supplies, which deliver clean, filtered power to your access control system. To protect critical wiring from damage or tampering, we offer a full range of power transfer solutions, including concealed electric hinges, EPTs, and heavy-duty armored door loops.
Electrified Exit Devices & Outside Trims
Beyond standard Request to Exit (REX) signaling, our electrified hardware offers advanced monitoring and control options for any architectural opening. Latchbolt Monitoring and Signal Switches provide real-time feedback on door status, while [link] Motorized Electric Latch Retraction (MELR) and Electric Dogging allow for seamless integration with automatic operators and high-traffic scheduling. For entry control, our Electrified Outside Exit Trims provide a secure, brand-specific way to manage exterior access without replacing the entire device. For high-security environments, Delayed Egress functionality deters unauthorized exit without compromising life-safety codes. Each of these configurations is available with Windstorm and Hurricane certification, ensuring the technical specifications and mounting hardware meet the most rigorous coastal building requirements.
Readers, Keypads & Egress Sensors
Control who enters and how they exit. This section includes Securitron DK-26 keypads, proximity readers, and high-accuracy XMS2 motion sensors. In 2026, we prioritize "No-Touch" technology, featuring Alarm Controls wave-to-open sensors that trigger both the lock release and the door operator for a completely sanitary, hands-free experience.
ElectroLynx® Accessories
To eliminate the risk of field-wiring errors, McKinney ElectroLynx® accessories offer a plug-and-play system. This section includes cable harnesses, crimpers, and connectors that allow for snap-together installation, significantly reducing labor costs and ensuring a fail-safe connection between the power source and the hardware.
