System Operation: 

A bidirectional vestibule system operates using a "sequencing" logic to ensure that one set of doors begins to open only as the other is closing, or in a timed tandem flow.

• Entry Initiation: As a user approaches the exterior door, a motion sensor or actuator triggers the first operator.
• Sequenced Activation: Once the exterior door reaches a specific open position, the system sends a signal to the interior door operator. This delay is adjustable to ensure the vestibule remains an effective buffer against outside air.
• Two-Way Traffic (Bidirectional): The system uses dual-zone sensors to detect traffic coming from both directions. If a user exits the building, the interior door opens first, followed by the exterior door in the same sequenced fashion.
• Safety Interlocks: Both doors are equipped with presence sensors. If a user is detected within the vestibule "zone," the doors will remain open or pause their closing cycle to prevent contact.
• Ghosting Prevention: Advanced sensors are tuned to ignore cross-traffic, ensuring the doors only cycle when a user intends to enter or exit.
• Emergency Breakout: In the event of an emergency, the operators allow for manual "breakout" in the direction of egress, regardless of the automation state.
