On an outswing door, the latch bolt is exposed to the exterior. Without a guard, an intruder can use a screwdriver, crowbar, or even a credit card to "jimmy" the latch and open the door. Before ordering, ensure the guard will clear your door trim and lock rose. We offer "cut-out" models specifically designed to fit around the rose of a cylindrical lever or the cylinder of a mortise lock to ensure a flush, secure fit against the door face.
