The Hager 4501 SVR is a heavy-duty, Grade 1 Surface Vertical Rod exit device designed for high-traffic double-door applications. Engineered for 36" x 84" (3'0" x 7'0") openings, this panic bar provides secure two-point latching at the top and bottom of the door. As a Non-Rated (Panic Hardware) device, it is the premier choice for secondary exits in schools, office buildings, and retail spaces that require easy egress without the need for a fire-rated barrier.
High-Security Two-Point Latching
The Surface Vertical Rod (SVR) configuration is ideal for double doors where a center mullion is not desired. The Hager 4501 SVR secures the door leaf at both the head (top) and the floor (bottom), providing superior resistance to forced entry. The top strike features a Pullman-type latch, while the bottom strike is designed to be low-profile and ADA compliant. For daily convenience, the device includes hex key dogging, which allows the push bar to be locked down to permit free-flowing "push/pull" traffic during business hours.
