The Sargent 130KB is a critical component for maintaining a "barrier-free" facility. If you are currently using the smaller "V" or "T" shaped thumbturns and find they are difficult to operate or frequently break under high-torque use, upgrading to the 130KB lever design provides a more durable and user-friendly experience.
Installation Note: For the 130KB to operate smoothly, the mortise lock body must be seated perfectly square within the door pocket. We highly recommend that the lever trim and rose plates be secured using high-strength thru bolts. If the trim is loose or misaligned, it can cause the 130KB tailpiece to bind against the mortise hub, making it feel "stuck" and potentially leading to the lever snapping off under forced rotation.
