The built-in bumper assists the hydraulic backcheck by cushioning the door near its maximum opening angle, significantly reducing wear and tear on the door and frame.
Constructed from a robust 14% silicon aluminum alloy, the one-piece die-cast body offers exceptional durability and is certified to ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 standards. This non-handed closer is field-adjustable for spring power sizes 1 through 6, ensuring it can be tuned to meet specific door weights and draft conditions. Designed for both interior and exterior applications, the 1431 OTB is pre-filled with all-weather hydraulic fluid to maintain consistent performance in extreme temperatures without manual intervention.

Installation & Architectural Compatibility
The Sargent 1431 OTB is designed for pull-side mounting on the door leaf with the track installed on the frame face. The unit comes standard with a high-impact, non-corrosive plastic cover and includes self-sticking templates for a "user-friendly" installation. To ensure a rigid and permanent attachment to wood or mineral core doors, this closer is supplied with Sargent thru bolts.
