Sargent 713-8 ETL US26D Outside Trim – Versatile Classroom Access Solution

This is intended for:
- Narrow Stile (8500 Series) Wide Stile (8800 Series) Rim Exit Devices
- Surface Vertical Rod less Bottom Rod Devices (NB8700 Series)
As a multi-device compatibility solution, the Sargent 713-8 ETL is specifically engineered for use with Narrow Stile (8500 Series) and Wide Stile (8800 Series) rim exit devices, as well as Surface Vertical Rod Less Bottom Rod (NB8700 Series) systems. The trim is through-bolted to the exit device chassis, acting as a structural reinforcement solution that resists physical tampering and high-torque forced entry attempts. For maintenance professionals, this trim provides a standardized hardware solution that simplifies locking protocols across mixed-device campuses while maintaining the high aesthetic standards of modern architectural openings.
The 713-8 ETL trim utilizes the industry-standard classroom function to balance user convenience with perimeter defense:
- Key Operation: The key locks and unlocks the lever. This allows staff to "toggle" the door's state—leaving it unlocked for the duration of a school day or ensuring it is secured during a lockdown or after-hours.
- Mechanical Memory: Once the key is used to unlock the trim, the lever stays unlocked until a key is used to relock it. This acts as a convenience solution, eliminating the need for constant key usage by authorized personnel.
- Life Safety Compliance: Regardless of the exterior lever's locked status, the interior exit device always allows for immediate, uninhibited egress, meeting all national fire and life safety codes.

Engineered Solutions for Modern Facility Hardware
The Sargent 713-8 ETL addresses specific technical and logistical hurdles in commercial door management:
- Multi-Platform Integration: This trim serves as a single-source solution for facilities that utilize both rim and surface vertical rod devices, allowing for a consistent exterior look and a unified keying system.
- Vandal-Resistant Security: Through-bolted mounting directly to the interior panic bar chassis provides a security-hardening solution, preventing the trim from being pulled or twisted away from the door face.
- Accessibility Compliance: The ETL lever design allows for operation with a closed fist or a light push, providing a universal design solution that meets all ADA and A117.1 accessibility requirements.
- Simplified Maintenance: With field-reversible components and a straightforward mechanical design, it offers a low-maintenance solution for facility teams, reducing the downtime associated with hardware repairs.
