Sargent LB-7812 Passage with Indicator Function Mortise Lock Body
The Sargent LB-7812 is the bare 7800 Series heavy-duty mortise lock body (case only) configured for the Passage with Indicator function. This is the non keyed lock case that drives the latchbolt; it is ordered separately from trim, cylinders and knobs so you can rebuild or reconfigure an existing Sargent mortise opening without buying a complete lockset.
Passage with Indicator Function Operation
The 7812 (Passage with Indicator) function works as follows, per the Sargent catalog:
- For doors with indicator that do not require locking
- Latchbolt retracted by trim either side at all times
- Throwing thumbturn on inside changes state of status indicator
- Rotating either trim returns indicator to previous state
- Note: Only available with 'V' series indicators. Indicator option code must be specified with this function
Lock Body (Case Only) -- Field-Configurable
This listing is the mortise lock case only. It accepts the standard Sargent 7800 Series knob trim, escutcheons/roses and cylinders sold separately, so it drops into an existing prepped door.
