SOSS 218IC Heavy Duty Invisible Closer Hinge for 1-3/4 Inch Minimum Door Thickness, UL Listed, 20-Minute Fire-Rated
SOSS® Invisible Hinge model #218IC is ideally suited for most types of doors that are 1-3/4″ thick. The model #218IC is made of zinc and steel materials. Nylon links provide added strength and durability. The SOSS Invisible Closer gives you a door closer that is totally invisible from either side when the door is closed. The closure rate is completely adjustable with an allen wrench after installation, and does not require removal of the closer. Installation can be either inside the door itself or inside the door jamb. SOSS® Invisible Hinges open a full 180° and are a single action hinge.

Underwriters Laboratories has designated the model #218IC SOSS® Invisible Hinge as appropriate for installation on hollow metal, sheet metal, tin clad, steel composite, or wood core swinging fire doors and frames with a 20-minute fire rating.
For fire-rated doors: It is advisable to use at least one fire-rated hinge for every 20 inches of door height or portion thereof, or one hinge for every 60 pounds or fraction thereof, depending on which calculation necessitates a greater number of hinges.
