The DPS style switch is a Normally Closed switch (SPST). This means it maintains a closed circuit until the door is opened, which is ideal for security applications.

The distance between the door and frame is a crucial factor. Depending on the door type and gap, the required distance typically falls within the 1/2"-3/4" [12-18mm] range. Ensuring this gap is correct is essential for the switch to operate effectively.
